Think you have a dashboard problem? You probably have an alignment problem.

I've had numerous conversations with marketing leaders this year seeking the "perfect" dashboard to demonstrate marketing's impact on the organization. Attribution is an ongoing challenge, and thankfully the data we have available to tell marketing's impact story continues to improve.

But the problem isn't better reporting. Despite improvements in attribution precision and multi-touch insights, the wall of disbelief persists. And unless we can create and sustain alignment across the c-suite, CEO and board, better reports is just busy work.

This won't be done with a report or even data. It starts way back at your organization's fundamentals. Corporate strategy, market opportunity, category/industry maturity, net-new vs retention/ARR prioritization.

Alignment is way more about change management and consensus on business fundamentals/priorities than it is about reporting.
